Bridging the gap between homelessness and hope one family at a time

First “Good Neighbor” Award is presented to Church & Dwight Employee Giving Fund

On Saturday, October 20th, 2012, friends of Housing Initiatives of Princeton came together at Princeton’s Present Day Club for our third annual Rent Party fundraiser, and to present our first “Good Neighbor” Award to our longtime supporters at Church & Dwight’s Employee Giving Fund. Both organizations share a commitment to community, and over the years the EGF has provided multi-year grant funding in support of HIP’s mission to assist lower-income working parents in our community, helping them to evade homelessness and improve opportunities for themselves and their children. The EGF grants have enabled HIP to assist a number of client families with transitional housing. We were delighted to welcome EGF representatives Lynn DeAngelo and Melissa Daciek to our gathering, along with Congressman Rush Holt, who has long been a friend of HIP and the work we do. The HIP Good Neighbor Award was established in 2012 in honor of the late Margaret (Peggy) Prescott, who worked to raise awareness of the plight of the working poor and the need for transitional housing with supportive services in Princeton. Margaret Prescott was the founding chair of Housing Initiatives of Princeton.
